The annual JMC Scholarship application process is now underway for academic year 2018 - 2019. To be eligible for a scholarship, you must be an officially declared JMC major and you must be planning to graduate after August 2018. All scholarship awards are based on professional promise (show evidence in samples of your work), academic accomplishments and financial need.
Here you can upload your BEST work to showcase your professional promise.
BEFORE UPLOADING YOUR PORTFOLIO OR WORK SAMPLES, ENSURE YOU'VE REVIEWED INDIVIDUAL SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS AND ARE FOLLOWING THOSE REQUIREMENTS AND SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS.
For DMP/EMP majors, please upload a Word document including links to YouTube or Vimeo for up to THREE of your best videos (maximum duration 5 minutes per video).
For Hagedorn photojournalism scholarship submissions please upload your portfolio images to your portfolio website. This could be WordPress, Flickr, Wix or any other website platform where you can post your images to a gallery. Copy and paste the link to your website into a Word document and upload your file. Portfolios must include up to 12 single images with captions and a photo story or series of up to 12 images.
For all other scholarship submissions, upload up to five of your best assignments or project files that showcase your professional abilities and talents.
To avoid potential issues with uploading large files, it is recommended that you upload a Word document with links to your videos housed on YouTube, Vimeo, KSUTube or other video sharing site. The allowed file types are .doc, .docx, .pdf. .txt, .rtf
After initiating the scholarship application process, you may log in to make changes to the application and/or to upload or edit portfolio documents. However, you must have your application and supporting documents finalized by midnight February 16, 2018.
